The salary depends on the population
Mayors’ salaries are also calculated from the remuneration of the mayors of the cities with county status and the local governments of Budapest, according to the following formulas :.

- 40 percent of the monthly salary of mayors of settlements with a population of 501-1500, that is, gross 398 880 forint,
- 50 percent of the monthly salary of mayors of settlements with a population of 1501-2000, that is, gross 498 600 forint,
- 55% of the monthly salary of the mayor of a settlement with a population from 2001 to 5000, that is, gross 548460 forint,
- 60 percent of the monthly salary of mayors of settlements with a population of 5,001 to 10,000: gross 598320 forint,
- 70 percent per month is received by the mayors of settlements with a population of 10,001 to 30,000 inhabitants, which 698040 means florin,
- and the mayor of a settlement with a population of more than 30,000 inhabitants, which is therefore gross, is entitled to 80% 797 760 you can take home florins.
The mayor with a social mandate receives half of the mayor’s salary each month, all or a specific part of which he can resign by means of a written declaration to the House of Representatives.
The full-time mayor, socially appointed mayor, and chairman of the county self-government general board are also entitled to a monthly refund of 15% of their salary and fees.
The deputy mayors also depend on the good will of the deputies

The deputy mayor, the full-time deputy mayor, the social deputy mayor, and the vice president of the county assembly are also entitled to a monthly refund of 15 percent of their salary and fees.
The Local Government Law also stipulates that the salaries of the mayor and vice mayors are determined at the inaugural or subsequent meeting of a representative body. As this is data of public interest, meetings should be discussed in public.
