The parliamentary justice commission adopted an amendment tabled by the officially independent deputy, János Volner, to toughen the electoral law, making it even more difficult for opposition parties to be included in the 2022 parliamentary elections, Telex writes.

The amendment to the law was originally presented by Zsolt Semjén on the night of November 10 at 11:59 p.m., and is said to the list can be drawn up by a party that has nominated independent candidates in at least nine counties and in at least fifty individual constituencies in the capital. Volner’s Amendment

It would raise this threshold to 14 counties and the capital, as well as at least 71 individual constituencies.

Although officially it is an action against the camouflage parties, the opposition suspects that the objective may be to avoid an alliance in 2022 against Fidesz-KDNP. The opposition would present a joint candidate against the ruling parties in the 106 individual constituencies in parliamentary elections scheduled for two years, but they are not united in drawing up a joint list or two. According to an Immediate source, with the adoption of Volner’s amendment proposal, it was practically decided that opposition parties should establish a common list in 2022.
