In one day, the new coronavirus infection (Covid-19) was detected in 844 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 13,153: the government information page published the official data. Five chronically elderly patients have died, bringing the death toll to 642 and 4117 people have already recovered. The number of active infections is 8394.
42 percent of the actively infected, 58 percent of the dead and 42 percent of those recovered were in Budapest. The hospital treats 287 coronavirus patients, 16 of whom are on ventilators.
As the data of new infections warn, the second wave of the epidemic is in Hungary, the virus is already spreading in the community. The government aims to keep the country operational, so the general rules that are already in place and easy to follow are now even more important, authorities warn.
They ask:
- In shops and on public transport, everyone must strictly follow the rules of mandatory use of the mask.
- To slow the spread of the community, it is still advisable to avoid places where there are many indoors.
- If possible, everyone should maintain a social distance,
- Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly.
- Anyone who has been ordered an official home quarantine for a stay abroad or for any other reason must strictly comply.
- Anyone with symptoms should not go into the community but stay home and notify their GP by phone.
The elderly are also asked to pay more attention to themselves and general precautions. Visiting hospitals and nursing homes is prohibited. And nursing home administrators should do everything possible to prevent infections. – can be read on the website.
