By Saturday, 1,438 new Hungarian citizens had been diagnosed with the new coronavirus infection (Covid-19), increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 350,587. Most of the 87 deaths were chronically elderly patients, bringing the number of deaths to 11,264.
The number of people cured is also constantly increasing, currently 227,325 people, the number of actively infected people has decreased to 111,998 people. The hospital cares for 4,408 coronavirus patients, 328 of whom are hooked up to ventilators, according to a government information page.
The day before, there were 1,513 new infections and 111 deaths. The hospital treated 4,600 coronavirus patients, 337 of them with a ventilator.
To date, a total of 112,847 people have been vaccinated, mostly healthcare workers and nursing home residents and workers. The rate and speed of vaccination are determined by the arrival of vaccines. More than a million people have already registered for vaccination on the website www.vakcinainfo.gov.hu and by mail.
More vaccine shipments will arrive in the coming weeks and, at this rate, vaccination will be able to continue both in health care and in nursing homes, then among other target groups identified in the vaccination plan, and begin mass vaccination of the population. The vaccination will be free and voluntary, so it is definitely worth registering.
In order to curb the epidemic and maintain the performance of hospitals, the protection measures in force so far will remain in effect until February 1.
- Protection of the elderly and chronically ill remains paramount. The elderly are also asked to pay more attention to themselves and general precautions.
- Hospitals and nursing homes are still prohibited from visiting.
- Private and family events (such as birthdays) can be held for up to ten people, excluding children under 14 years of age.
- There is also a curfew between eight in the afternoon and five in the morning.
- A case of exemption from the curfew is work that must be justified.
- In addition to health workers, social workers, police officers, soldiers and officials involved in defense can also use public transport for free. Free rides require a certificate from the employer stating that the person is performing tasks related to the emergency or consequences of a coronavirus pandemic.
- Stores, with the exception of pharmacies and gas stations, can stay open until seven in the afternoon and open at five in the morning when the curfew expires.
- Service providers and services that are not mentioned in the regulation (eg hairdresser, massage therapist, personal trainer) can normally operate under curfew rules.
- The norms introduced so far in relation to the use of masks and distancing remain in force, with the obligation to wear a mask in some public areas of the settlements of more than 10,000 inhabitants. It is the mayor’s responsibility to designate the areas.
- The use of a mask is not yet mandatory during sports activities, as well as in parks or green areas.
- All meetings are prohibited.
- Restaurants cannot accept guests, they can only stay there to bring food.
- Hotels cannot accept tourists, only guests arriving for business, economic or educational reasons.
- It is forbidden to carry out any type of event, including cultural events and fairs.
- Sports matches must be held behind closed doors.
- The use of leisure facilities, including in particular fitness rooms, indoor swimming pools, museums, libraries, cinemas and zoos, skating rinks, is prohibited.
- Funerals can be held for up to fifty people.
- Weddings can be held without a wedding, however only certain people can attend the event.
- Public parking is free. Commercial P + R, Parking Garage, Parking Garage, Enclosed Surface Parking, and Unoccupied Surface Parking are available free of charge from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The facility operator is obliged to allow free parking during this time zone.
The police strictly monitor compliance with the rules, impose fines and close places where regulations are not followed. Soldiers support the work of police officers in various cities across the country and ease the burden on health workers in hospitals.
To stop the spread of the community continues
- Avoid places where there are many people inside,
- if possible, keep social distance,
- Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly.
- Anyone who has received an official home quarantine order for a stay abroad or for any other reason must strictly comply.
- Anyone with symptoms should not go into the community, but rather stay home and notify their GP by phone.
In addition to maintaining health protection, the government is working on additional economic and family protection measures.
