On July 14, László Bogdán, mayor of Cserdi in the Baranya region, was found dead. According to Index sources, the politician, also known as a Roma civil rights activist, committed suicide and his body was found in one of the municipal buildings after his family started searching. Zoltán Visegrády, the family lawyer, answered why.

According to him, in connection with the death of László Bogdán, “all kinds of unfounded conspiracy theories and legends were born,” he posted an entry on his Facebook page to clarify them.

It is a fact that the tragic death of László Bogdán may be related to the failure of the important investments that he initiated, which is due to a financial settlement problem related to an investment that he initiated.

László Bogdán considered these investments a matter of heart,

but all its strength was based on successive investment failures.

The lawyer noted that the mayor had named in his farewell letter someone who could be associated with these cases.

The lawyer also reported that the Baranya County Police Headquarters had ordered an investigation into an unknown perpetrator for dishonest treatment. The investigation is ongoing and they cannot provide further information. “And the relatives of László Bogdán obviously do not know the details of the case,” writes Zoltán Visegrády.

The lawyer also recounted the latest and shocking lines from László Bogdán:

I don’t play civics. I don’t even know what the heck civics is. I can interpret the word, but I really don’t understand it.

After the death of László Bogdán, his younger brother, Gyula Bogdán, won the interim mayoral elections.

László Bogdán's brother won the mayoral elections of Cserdi
