Due to the illness of eighteen students and 13 teachers, the Eötvös József School of Primary Practice and Gymnasium of the University of Nyíregyháza will switch to digital work outside the classroom as of Tuesday, the director of the institution confirmed this Monday.

István Komáromi said the measure, which is expected to last until November 13, will affect all grades of the school. The coronavirus has also appeared among students and teachers, and the number of infected people at school has recently increased.

A total of 18 students were infected with the virus, and 13 of the 105 educators had a positive coronavirus test, which is already a critical index, so it is necessary to request digital education outside the classroom to the Department of Human Resources (Emmi) said the director. He added that an administrative worker was also infected.

Asked by the MTI, István Komáromi confirmed that one of the school’s teachers had died during the weekend and had been out of the institution since October 12 due to health problems.

There are 1,070 students studying in the twelve-year, elementary, and eighth-four-grade primary education institutions maintained by the University of Nyíregyháza.
