Police were alerted to a rescue because a truck driver was caught in a paper bullet in a parking lot in Zsámbék. Soon after, however, it turned out that it was a large-scale drug transaction: at the end of the investigation, the uniformed officers also found 90 kilos of drugs and almost 100 million florins in euros and florins, police.hu reported.

A young man called police on the morning of October 15, 2020, in a parking lot in Zsámbék after a truck driver stuck in a paper bullet was rescued and a strange black package was detected in the trunk of the vehicle. Upon seeing the suspicious package, the arriving patrol called for reinforcements and a drug search dog at the scene, while keeping the released and slightly injured Bosnian driver there.

The dog later gave a clear signal that there was a drug in the package, the 9-pound drug was seized and presented to the 71-year-old driver and 22-year-old Budapest man who was reported to the police at the scene . The case already seemed closed, but new information came to light during questioning.

Investigators found that the caller, Máté A., 22, was more than a selflessly helping citizen, who said he was assisting when he noticed a Bosnian truck driver in distress. Investigators discovered that he had actually arrived at Zsámbék’s resting place with his contemporary B. Daniel, where they began to move the 11, each approx. 7.5-8.5 pounds, glued packages. However, while picking up the last bag, the driver fell and got caught in one of the paper bales. Drug dealers had to improvise, so Daniel B. left in his stuffed trunk and his friend called the police and tried to trick them.

The police soon found the other car in Budapest XI. in one of the district parking lots. Ten packages were found in the car, the same as those found in the truck, as well as several wads of euros and florins for a total value of HUF 91,927,900. Police said counting large amounts of money also required creativity because there was no office furniture to store the unpacked bills. The drug found at the two sites weighs almost 90 kilograms, reaching a value of around 226 million guilders for end users.
