The government has signed a cooperation agreement with organizations representing diabetics on Saturday, World Diabetes Day, writes MTI.
There are more than 1.2 million diabetics in Hungary.
Prime Minister Zsolt Nyitrai said they have been able to form a good alliance with the organizations that represent them in recent years, the result of which was a cooperation agreement in which they also believed in future joint work.
Katalin Novák, Minister without Family Portfolio, recalled that type 1 and type 2 diabetics can be distinguished. Most of them suffer from type 2 diabetes called old age diabetes. They are even more at risk of a coronavirus epidemic than those who are healthy.
And the metabolism of children and adults with type 1 diabetes works differently than those who do not have that problem, so they must be paid attention, he emphasized. That is why they work closely with organizations that represent diabetics. They support your work year after year. This year they were helped by an offer of one hundred million guilders.
Hundreds of millions will also be delivered to people with type 1 diabetes next year.
A 500 million HUF support framework is also available to help develop childhood diabetes centers this year and next. The goal is for diabetics in Hungary to receive the best possible quality of care, which is why funding for modern technologies has increased, the minister said.
