David Dorosz announced on Facebook late Thursday that he was resigning as deputy mayor. The Diálogo politician, who was also Gergely Karácsony’s campaign manager, justified his departure from office with the argument that the government would make the capital impossible, so that he would work for a change of government in the next period.

Dorost was elected by the Budapest General Assembly in November 2019 on the proposal of Gergely Karácsony as Deputy Mayor for Climate Protection and Development.

However, according to our city council sources, there may be other reasons behind Doros’s departure. The direction of the capital was not satisfied with the work of Dorosz, one of whose most visible signs was when Gergely Karácsony took over the organization of the renewal of the Chain Bridge, and Katara Tutto entrusted the project to the mayor.

However, the loss of confidence in Doros also evidenced by the fact that Gergely Karácsony also recently touched base his deputy mayor, for whom the issue of the development of green spaces for political dialogue at the momentary Gábor Kerpel moved -Fronius.

We also managed to find out that Gergely Karácsony will not nominate a new deputy mayor in place of Dorosz, his remaining portfolio will be divided among the four remaining MPs. The mayor has also been regularly criticized for having so many deputies, while the capital’s budget is also in serious trouble due to government layoffs and the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus epidemic.

By the way, Christmas will make video announcements within hours, on its Facebook page, containing changes that the capital’s administration hopes will fix Budapest’s financial situation.
