Bernadett Szél went to the National Public Health Center after several civilians from Sopron approached that there was a big problem in the nursing home and relatives were not receiving information about their loved ones.

The independent deputy shared on his Facebook page that he had made a request for data to the National Center for Public Health. According to his information, the Social Institution Sopron – Hogar de Ancianos, which is maintained by the municipality

the situation is very serious and the next of kin have not been informed. The house was reportedly not available by phone and due to a visitation ban, relatives received virtually no information.

The politician added, it is obvious that these institutions are under brutal pressure, but the correct information of the affected relatives should have been organized by the management in all circumstances. As Bernadett Szél says, “after the local outrage, we finally made it happen”.

In a reply letter, Cecília Müller wrote that in the 230-person institution, 105 caregivers and 49 caregivers contracted the virus, 105 caregivers and 46 caregivers were still infected. Three of them are currently in the hospital. To date, 12 caregivers infected with COVID-19 have died.
