He also talked about not having a big break in testing, more and more sampling units are being set up. He added that the fall to spring season favors flu infection, so he encouraged anyone who could to get a flu shot.

He stressed that the adult vaccine will be delivered to GPs on an ongoing basis, and the children’s vaccines will be delivered to the government office on Thursday and delivered to the doctor from there. The head of the department said that the vaccine should be given to children under 3 years of age with a chronic disease. He also stated that both vaccines are effective and safe. He noted that parents can also consult their GP about vaccine co-administration, adding that vaccination against influenza does not exclude other vaccines.

He stressed that six months is the time when a person can be considered protected from reinfection. Regarding that if a person is receiving anticoagulant treatment, if the therapy is adjusted properly, they can be given a flu vaccine.

He also spoke about how both healthcare and hospitals are prepared for the increased workload and patient admission. Regarding the reassignment of health workers, he said that so far more than 930 professionals have been reassigned.
