The second shipment of the coronavirus vaccine has arrived in Hungary. After 7:30, the plane carrying the next dose of vaccines landed at Liszt Ferenc International Airport. Once again, the German-American vaccine was delivered in special refrigerated boxes, writes hirado.hu based on information from M1 Híradó.
According to reports from M1, the container containing the vaccine was not opened at the airport, but was loaded onto a truck, which will be transferred to a warehouse base, where it will be dismantled and the refrigerators inside will be sorted.
Refrigerators can store ampoules between minus 60 and minus 90 degrees with the help of dry ice, so they can guarantee the quality of the vaccine for ten days. Once the vaccine has thawed, it can be stored for another five days at 2-8 degrees.
The vaccine, developed jointly by the German pharmaceutical company Pfizer and the American pharmaceutical company BioNTech, was the first to be approved in the European Union. With the first shipment, almost 10,000 vaccines arrived in Hungary on Saturday, of which some 2,500 health workers have already been vaccinated.
The 70,000 vaccines that arrived with the second shipment are suitable to vaccinate 35,000 people.
