The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 941 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 16,111. Six chronically elderly patients have died, bringing the death toll to 669 and 4,240 have already recovered. The number of actively infected people is 11,202. 42% of the actively infected, 58% of the dead and 41% of those recovered are from Budapest. 374 patients with coronavirus are treated in a hospital, 29 of them are connected to a ventilator, they write in koronavirus.gov.hu.
As the data of new infections warn, the second wave of the epidemic is taking place in Hungary, the virus is already spreading in the community. The government’s goal is to keep the country running and not allow the virus to paralyze everyday life, so the general rules that are already in place and easy to follow are now even more important.
They ask that
- All people must strictly observe the rules of mandatory use of masks in shops and on public transport
- avoid places where there are many people inside,
- if possible, keep social distance,
- wash your hands frequently and thoroughly,
- who has been ordered to submit to an official national quarantine for a stay abroad or for any other reason,
- Anyone with symptoms should not go to the community but stay home and notify their GP by phone.
The protection of elderly and chronic patients is of the utmost importance. Older people are also asked to pay more attention to themselves and general precautions. Visiting hospitals and nursing homes is prohibited. And nursing home administrators must do everything possible to prevent infection.
