Tuesday meeting after austerity measures brought the Capital Operational Tribe. In addition to the ban on visiting and visiting social institutions, the protection of cultural institutions has also been strengthened. In the capital’s public transport, fines can be sanctioned if someone does not use or does not use the mask in an irregular manner, the statement read.

According to surveys carried out by BKK on September 9 and 10, 2020, the willingness to wear a mask on flights and stopovers is once again close to one hundred percent. The data is also backed by the experience of the BKK inspection team, reinforced by the public area inspectors, who, although they had to warn some passengers to wear a mask, did not have to pay extra for any of them, BKK reported. to our editorial office.

The goal of tighter control of the use of masks is not to charge passengers surcharges: the capital’s administration and transportation service providers want to ensure that travelers do everything possible to prevent and slow the spread of the coronavirus.

According to the recently introduced tightening, the BKK inspectors are working with a larger number of staff, with the help of the staff of the Budapest Municipality Police Directorate. In addition to the existence of a valid ticket and pass for the passengers, they also check if the passengers comply with the regulations on mandatory face masks in force since the end of April. Anyone who does not or does not wear a mask, shawl or scarf properly can not only be excluded from the travel service, but will also have to pay a surcharge on the spot of HUF 8,000.

On the first day of the strictest inspection, on September 10, the reinforced team worked mainly on the busiest public transport lines in Budapest. Several passengers had to be warned to comply with the regulations, but all, without exception, were cooperative, so that no passenger had to be recharged in any case for their evasion. The increase in inspections will continue and public space inspectors and supervisors can be expected on less frequented lines in the coming days.

(We asked BKK about the current rules, you can read it here).
