An additional shipment of vaccines will arrive this week, and vaccination will continue at 25 vaccination points, Ágnes Galgóczi said at a press conference of the operating court on Tuesday. The head of the epidemiology department of the National Center for Public Health explained that the coronavirus infection had been detected in 902 new people, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 317,571. The hospital cares for 6,298 coronavirus patients, 444 of whom are connected to ventilators.

131 people died, mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the number of deaths to 9,292. According to the government information portal, a 29-year-old man with severe immunodeficiency, bleeding, chronic kidney failure, valve stenosis and endocarditis is the youngest victim.

The good news is that the number of active infections is constantly decreasing and the number of recovered infections is constantly increasing.

– emphasized the head of the department, adding that he had reached a new stage of epidemiological control with the arrival of the vaccine in Hungary on Saturday. The last 2,461 healthcare workers have been vaccinated at five different vaccination sites. Ágnes Galgóczi emphasized: in the first half of 2021, it is expected that additional vaccines will be allowed, after which the population will be mass vaccinated. Asked by a journalist, Ágnes Galgóczi said that the vaccination book will be delivered to patients after vaccination, the document will also include the date of the second vaccination.

Anyone who has already had the infection should wait at least three months before receiving the vaccine. Asked about when the mass vaccination of the population could begin, Ágnes Galgóczi said that this week another week would arrive, 80,000 doses of Pfizer and BionTech vaccines, which would reach all counties so that vaccination could begin. In the context of chronic diseases and drug allergies, said the department head

the vaccine can and is recommended for chronic patients.

There are contraindications, such as pregnancy or a serious allergic reaction known from medical history, or an allergy specifically to the components of the drug.

At a press conference of the operational tribunal on Tuesday, Kristóf Gál, a spokesperson for ORFK, said that

  • 210 people were prosecuted for not wearing a mask,
  • 208 people did not wear masks in public areas,
  • The police issued 50 warnings,
  • 73 fines were imposed on site,
  • 85 reports were received,
  • 382 people were prosecuted for breach of exit rules,
  • 148 people violated traffic rules,
  • The official home quarantine was inspected 10,381 times.
