Siklós police investigated the theft, possession of drugs and the endangerment of a minor against a gang of three, whose case was closed and the documents handed over to the prosecution.

A Beremend man filed a complaint with police in April that someone broke into his home and stole 12.5 million guilders from his coat pocket in the closet, police said.

Police said the friend of the man’s adopted daughter was left alone on the property several times and then stole the money from her coat on one occasion. The investigation also revealed that the boy’s mother had also aided in the crime and the instigator was the woman’s new friend.

At their questioning, all three testified. They said they had spent most of the money, and the instigator also said he used the money to buy a car, pay off his previous debts and also cover his drug use. All three suspects were suspected of drug use, which was later corroborated by an expert review.

The police also confiscated about two hundred thousand florins, watches, jewelry, a telephone and a car from the instigator. The suspects returned the full amount of the damage to the victim during the process.
