Due to the coronavirus, Canada has extended the border blockade for one more month, foreigners still cannot enter the country, writes MTI.
Until September 30, the border will remain closed to foreigners, except those belonging to certain specific categories (for example, relatives of foreign citizenship, relatives). Holders of Canadian citizenship and permanent registered office in the country entering from abroad must still remain in quarantine for fourteen days.
The rule for US citizens is slightly different. According to the current bilateral treaty between Ottawa and Washington, the closure will last until September 21 for the neighboring country.
Canada closed its border in March and has since extended the entry ban every month. So far, the country has registered more than 127,000 confirmed cases of infection, and around 9,140 people have died from the disease.
