Index – Foreigner – Slovakia Enclosed in Four Walls

[ad_1]

Slovakia between the four walls from distance, from today only at night, you are still only allowed outside for a few hours without restrictions.

Yesterday there was a large crowd in the stores, but today the dog did not even go to the supermarket when I went shopping. Hardly anyone is on the street, but there are no apocalyptic states either. There are no more police officers, and whoever they are has yet to apply for a residency or employer certificate. I also crossed the district border to Bratislava without any problem.

– says Krisztián Pomichal, a journalist from Dunaszerdahely, to the Index by phone, adding that tomorrow he is watching the TV fan at most.

Yes, how is the game going in Dunaszerdahely? It may not even be on television. The two leaders of the Slovak soccer league roster, the local DAC, would host defending champion Slovan, but 14 people from Bratislava fell ill with coronavirus.

The DAC would have tested its tenants for free, but could not: the derby would be a goalkeeper already closed, according to a new decree from the Slovak government, it is no longer possible to go to a match.

You can’t even party, have coffee, or beautify yourself. Even to a cemetery just for a funeral, not to cry; it will affect the masses in an uncomfortable way next weekend, around the day of the dead. Violators of the partial curfew may, in principle, be fined up to 1,659 euros (606 thousand guilders), but Roman Mikulec The Interior Minister promised: this is not the goal, they are trying to keep the population at home with nice words.

In any case, small businessmen complain about the new situation of the Hungarian press in the Altiplano, because economically they are very affected by the restriction: although they can keep it open, only the guest cannot go to them …

What good is all opening hours if we can be penalized for receiving guests? So we have to close safe, I would go to work unnecessarily!

a woman who worked in a beauty salon told New Word in Bratislava.

I think it’s a very good idea for everyone to take the test. I myself am involved and advise everyone to do so. However, I don’t understand what the point of keeping it open if the guests can’t come anyway.

and this was stated by a man from Somorja, who already operates a music club.

Small entrepreneurs want to achieve a Czech model

the state should bear their wage costs and pay their rents as well.

The Ministry of Labor promises not to disappoint employers. But many fear mass unemployment; after the first wave of epidemics in March

more than a million people were sent on compulsory leave to Slovakia.

This is not the end

The current restrictions will last for a week and then will be decided on others, but in the meantime, they will be tested en masse. This weekend, free and massive tests of the Covid-19 virus will be carried out in some northern districts (Námestó, Turdossin, Alsókubin and Bártfa).

even in these places you can go to the store and work with a negative test.

Then the entire population will be aligned, which was announced by the Slovaks a week ago as a unique measure in the world.

Authorities have thirteen million antigen tests in 5.4 million countries.

So far with our neighbor to the north

  • some 41,000 people were infected (2,890 new patients in 24 hours – this is a record)
  • 159 people died (25 people in the last 24 hours)
  • 678 thousand people were tested.

In other words, compared to almost twice the population of Hungary, there are only 15,000 fewer infected.

But they fear the situation will get even worse later. Prime Minister Igor Matovič has now said:

If the number of positive coronavirus cases does not fall within three weeks, the country will be completely closed.

Is everything prohibited? Almost

There are still exceptions for now; those that have not yet been mentioned were included in the Slovak news portal Ma7. You can even leave your residence in most places.

  • go to work (or from home)
  • for the tests
  • accompany a child to school or kindergarten (no longer necessary for upper grades, they switch to distance learning)
  • visiting the nearest grocery store, pharmacy, doctor
  • take care of a close relative
  • for the supply of farm animals
  • to walk dogs less than a hundred meters from the residence
  • go to the post office, bank, insurance, laundry, car service, gas station
  • for hiking (within the given district)

However, a significant part of education, including upper secondary education and all, including universities,

will switch to distance learning starting Monday.
