A man was beheaded late in the northern afternoon on the outskirts of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, northwest of Paris. The perpetrator was shot dead by police and the anti-terrorist prosecutor’s office launched the investigation, writes the MTI, citing information from French authorities.
As they write, the assailant attacked his victim with a knife in the open street and then beheaded him. Police killed the attacker in a nearby town, who allegedly also attacked the police.
According to French police, the victim was a high school history teacher.

France has been plagued by a wave of Islamist killings for years, in which more than 250 people have lost their lives. The main suspect in the late September attack wanted revenge on the French satirical weekly for publishing cartoons of Mohamed.
