Kiev welcomes Hungary’s stated intention that Budapest is ready to resume constructive dialogue between the two countries, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba said on Wednesday in an interview with TSZN News Television.

Kuleba believes that after the sharp decline in bilateral ties last month, Ukraine has received a signal from Hungary that Budapest is ready to resume constructive dialogue with Kiev.

And we are responding favorably to this signal.

The head of diplomacy in Kiev added.

According to the minister, Hungary will be the center of attention early next year and, as said, they will try to get out of the unfavorable situation in which the two countries find themselves, writes MTI.

In response to a question, he confirmed that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s official visit to Ukraine is still on the agenda, but it is still too early to talk about the date.

However, I can assure everyone that the President of Ukraine is ready for the meeting, but it must be meaningful and that he will relaunch (bilateral) relations.

– He said. He also noted that it is the diplomats’ job to prepare for this.

We would like to clear up any misunderstandings with Hungary. But for the reboot, we need to make it clear that these are now the rules of the game, and both parties agree to these rules.

Kuleba added.
