US President Donald Trump has vetoed the United States Defense Budget (NDAA), writes the BBC.
The US president complained that lawmakers had restricted the withdrawal of soldiers from Afghanistan and Europe.
Additionally, Trump would like social media to be more accountable for military-related communications posted by its own users.
Trump put it on this budget
gift to China and Russia,
and argued that what was in the budget was contrary to the Constitution, alluding here primarily to restricting the repatriation of American soldiers, and to the interests of the American nation.
By the way, lawmakers approved the budget unanimously by more than two-thirds.
This is important because, in this case, if they continue to support them, they will be able to override the presidential veto in addition to another vote.
Otherwise, it would be the first time in sixty years that the defense budget has not been approved.
