Doctors say the situation is critical due to the increase in the number of coronavirus infections needing attention in Slovenian hospitals, while the previous peak in the number of new infections recorded in a day fell again on Saturday, writes the MTI .

If the number of illnesses exceeds 140 per 100,000 people, the number of people needing hospital care is 250 and the number of patients treated in the intensive care unit is 50, an epidemic situation in Slovenia will be officially declared again. . According to the newspapers, this could happen on Monday.

According to data released by the government on Saturday, the number of infected people rose by 898 to 14,416 on Friday. Four patients died and the death toll from the epidemic rose to 187. Of the diagnosed patients, 250 are hospitalized, 43 of whom are treated in an intensive care unit. In Croatia, the number of identified infections increased by 1,096 in one day through Saturday, reaching 24,761. Ten people died and the death toll from the epidemic rose to 355. The hospital cares for 530 patients, 28 of whom are connected to a ventilator.
