Indian police have detained at least 132 employees for disorderly conduct at an iPhone factory, the Indian newspaper reported on Monday.

Starting saturday interruptions continued Sunday at the Taiwanese subsidiary of Wistron Corporation, where iPhone-type cell phones are made.

The employees were not satisfied with their salary, so they damaged the factory facilities, covered the cars and set them on fire. The factory said many computer equipment and other assets had been stolen, causing more than $ 13 million in damage to the company.

According to the MTI report, authorities are searching for the main climbers of the riots. The Karnataka government has stated that perpetrators of vandalism and theft will be brought to justice. The headquarters of the US company Apple said it would thoroughly investigate what happened at the Indian factory, sending specialists and auditors to the scene. Experts say what happened will not affect Indian iPhone production.

Wistron’s plant in India is about sixty kilometers from Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru and also produces iPhone SE and iPhone 7 phones and other IT products.
