More than 48.3 million laboratory tests have been performed in the country since the outbreak began, and about 295,000 have been performed in the last day. 234,340 people are under medical surveillance on suspicion of coronavirus infection.

Moscow Deputy Mayor Anastasia Rakova told reporters on Tuesday that more than four thousand (4,082) new infections had been found in the Russian capital and that more than 1,000 Covid-19 patients had been hospitalized in the last 24 hours. Both of these values ​​essentially mean setting the peak measured in mid-spring. Rakova called on vulnerable groups to stay at home and the rest of Moscow to wear a mask, avoid crowded places and restrict personal contacts.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin suspended travel discounts for students, people over 65 and chronically ill during the period from October 9 to 29, conducted online ticket sales for theaters, museums and managed concert halls by the capital and instructed Moscow employers to provide the municipality with the personal data, mobile phone number, car registration and transport card data of its employees who have been working remotely since Monday. Teaching in Moscow schools has been suspended since Monday.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday did not rule out the possibility of Russia delivering a coronavirus vaccine in Ukraine despite “political difficulties.” According to him, this would require a formal request from the government of Ukraine. This is what the president spoke about when he received Viktor Medvedchuk, leader of the Ukrainian Party for Life, who was acting on behalf of the Russian-speaking people, at the Novo-Ogarjovo residence.

Putin also reported that several members of his kinship and environment, as well as almost the entire leadership of the Ministry of Defense, had already been vaccinated with the Sputnik vaccine V. Medvedukuk said that while walking through the Crimea, he, his wife and their son were also injected.

According to a survey conducted by the state survey institute VCIOM, 74 percent of Russians fear becoming infected or that one of their family members will contract the Covid-19 disease. Eleven percent are sure this will happen.
