Despite expectations, restrictions introduced earlier this month due to the coronavirus epidemic in Germany will not be tightened any further, MTI writes. Instead of newer rules, they primarily targeted people with requests.

Chancellor Angela Merkel said after a meeting with provincial heads of government on Monday night:

he himself could have imagined a greater tightening,

but that was not the majority opinion at the meeting.

The chancellor reported that most provincial leaders said they would have to wait another week to take further action. However, at the next meeting on November 25, a longer-term plan will be discussed, at least until the end of the year, Angela Merkel said.

He added that so far the restrictions had managed to stop the exponential and explosive increase in the number of infections, but the epidemic

It had only peaked and wasn’t starting to slow down.

This time, the chancellor and the heads of government have made strong requests to the population instead of new rules. The joint resolution stated that

Most infections occur in the private sector, family, friends,

that is, in an area where the state should only operate with maximum restraint and refrain from regulations, regulations.

In his opinion, therefore, “at the current stage of the epidemic, the subsequent development of the processes depends mainly on the behavior of citizens. Beyond the rules for the public sphere, the world of the economy, work and institutions, everyone must keep “exposure to people outside their home at risk of infection” to the absolute minimum necessary, according to the document.

After the meeting, Mayor Michael Müller, Governor of Berlin, head of government of the provincial capital, stressed that, although the result achieved with the restrictions in force until the end of November was significant,

He added that the seriousness of the situation is demonstrated by the fact that more than a thousand people are being hospitalized in Berlin for the first time this Monday for a coronavirus infection.

Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder said he had little hope that the epidemic restrictions could be lifted by the end of the month. It is not possible to order a short circuit all the time, then relax in a month and start again after another four weeks, the politician said.

According to the Robert Koch Public Health Institute (RKI), there were 10,824 new infections on Monday. This is a decrease from 16,947 cases the day before.
