Due to the accelerated spread of the epidemic, a warning was also issued to the population via a mobile phone disaster alert system in Bucharest and several other major cities after the number of identified coronavirus infections rose to more than 150,000 on Saturday.

The system sent the alarm to all the mobile phones of the two million in the Romanian capital using the mobile messaging function. In it, the public was warned to follow prescribed sanitary precautions: covering nose and mouth with a mask, keeping distance, avoiding crowds, touching surfaces touched by others, and disinfecting after touching any suspected infected object.

On Saturday, the infection flared up again in Romania. The 3,517 newly diagnosed infections are more than 70 percent and the 59 deaths 23 percent more than the average for the past two weeks. Currently in hospitals 8850 patients treated with coronavirus and 629 severe cases in the intensive care unit.
