In Slovakia, there will be a full-day curfew starting on Saturday due to the coronavirus epidemic, Health Minister Marek Krajcí announced after a Bratislava government meeting on Wednesday.

The ban will go into effect at 5 p.m. on December 19, and how long it will last has yet to be specified. The curfew does not apply to travelers, to those who are going to buy food or fuel, or to those who go to the post office, bank or online points of sale. The government measure adopted on Wednesday was justified by the Health Minister because it is an “extremely serious” epidemic. Two days ahead of schedule, the store closings will also take effect as of Saturday, which will apply to all stores except supermarkets, pharmacies and drugstores. This measure will remain in effect for at least 3 weeks, subject to prior notification.

In Slovakia, a new adjustment was announced last week. Part of this is that as of Monday, hotels and other lodging establishments will only be able to accept guests who can present a negative coronavirus test for no more than 72 hours. At its meeting on Wednesday, the Bratislava government also approved the country’s vaccination strategy against Covid-19. In it, it is estimated that between 60 and 70 percent of the population of a country of 5.5 million will be vaccinated continuously in four waves.
