Iranian President Hasan Róhan has stated that he is willing to work with Joe Biden, writes the MTI:

Our goal is to take the burden of US sanctions off the shoulders of the Iranian people. This objective is in our national interest

Róhani said in a speech on state television.

The president added that his country is ready to start negotiations with the United States if the new government rejoins the nuclear agreement denounced by US President Donald Trump and cancels the sanctions imposed since then.

We must do everything possible to go back to the period between 2016 and 2017, when the Iranian economy began to grow after the nuclear deal and the lifting of sanctions.

Róháni said.

Relations between Iran and the United States deteriorated in 2018 after Donald Trump unilaterally rescinded the 2016 nuclear deal with Tehran and imposed new sanctions on Tehran.

During the election campaign, Joe Biden promised that if Iran abides by the treaty, which means that it continues its nuclear program for peaceful purposes only, the United States will rejoin the agreement.
