The Croatian oil company INA, owned by the Croatian state and Mol Plc., Has not been able to find one of the Adriatic platforms since Saturday, more precisely:
on Saturday the connection to the platform, whose location is not accessible due to weather conditions, was cut.
The gas platform itself is located fifty kilometers northwest of Pula in Istria. The INA also has several platforms in this area. The missing drilling rig is the Ivana-D, which was installed to extract gas but oil.
However, there have been no signs of the weekend’s storm. Until now, attempts have been made to locate it using ships and planes. In the second half of the week, they will also launch robotic submarines in search of those that the INA used to check the status of its offshore production facilities, MTI previously reported.
There were no personnel on the platform and the emergency system was activated, which closed the safety valves on the gas platform so that the accident would not have adverse effects on the environment.
According to the INA, Ivana D was last inspected in October and then everything was found to be in order.
