The new passenger stations will be equipped with lighting, high-quality benches, information for passengers and a security camera system. MÁV also wants to make suburban transport more attractive to people by developing a modern passenger compartment.

The installation of the first station at the Erdőkertes stop of the Budapest – Veresegyház – Vác line has already begun, the completion of which is expected in the first quarter of 2021, the total cost is HUF 13.5 million. The works will not disturb passenger traffic.

The investment planning process started in mid-2019. The new type of passenger stands developed in the modular system can also be installed on the end platform and on the so-called middle platform between the two tracks, adapting to the diverse environment of train station. The five-meter-long base module is almost three meters high and 2.6 meters deep, of which it is protected from the wind at a depth of more than one and a half meters. For the convenience of the traveling public, ticket vending machines will also be installed at each stop.

In addition to Erdőkertes, in the first quarter of 2021, Felsőpakony, Tóvároskert, Vecsés-Kertekalja and Alsógalla, in the second quarter Gyál, Vicziántelep, Bicske alsó, Felsőgöd, Sülysáp and Törökbálint can get a new type of passenger station. Delivery in Mezőkövesd Upper, Szentmártonkáta, Szőlősnyaraló and Vác-Alsóváros is expected in the fall of next year, and by the end of 2021 the new Rákospalota-Kertváros, Tápiószecső and Dunakeszi passenger stations may be completed.
