A four-lane highway will be available from anywhere in the country in 30 minutes, at least that is the strategic objective of the sector, according to the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM). Under the HUF 3.2 billion Roads Program launched in 2016, expectations have now been met for half of the settlements, almost three-quarters of the inhabitants, and by 2025 it will be true for three-quarters of the settlements and nine out of ten Hungarians. Of course, this also means that the length of national highways today, of approximately 1,700 kilometers, is constantly increasing.

And by the end of 2020, with the establishment of the motorway connection between Eger and Sopron, this number will increase to 19, while in the other directions, Békéscsaba, Kaposvár, Szolnok, Zalaegerszeg, construction is in progress.

“A key policy goal is to reroute highways and highways toward the border at a rate that is in line with related developments in neighboring countries. In 2010, three national borders were available on four-lane highways, and the indicator has now risen to seven. In December last year, both investments in roads financed by the European Networking Facility were completed, ”said ITM.

• With the expansion of the M15, the full value motorway connection between Budapest and Bratislava was implemented at all times.
• The post-Berettyóújfalu section of the M4 motorway was also delivered, bringing the second road to the Romanian border after the M43.
• The construction of the new bridge in Komárom has also been completed.
• The Monostori Bridge creates a permanent freight crossing on the Danube, which is almost 100 km away, while relieving the center of Komárom and Révkomárom.
• While the Sopron edge of the M85, the Körmend – Rábafüzes section of the M80 and the Miskolc – Tornyosnémeti section of the M30 are also under construction.
