A coronavirus vaccine developed jointly by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford is about to be approved in the UK, the Financial Times reported. This could happen as early as Monday, and vaccination center staff are already preparing for vaccinations with another vaccine, the Sunday Telegraph reported.

More than 600,000 people have already been vaccinated in the archipelago with a vaccine jointly developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, but vaccination with AstraZeneca could still be crucial to fighting the epidemic, not just in the UK but around the world.

This vaccine is initially provided by the manufacturer at a cost price, that is, $ 4 per dose, as opposed to the price of vaccines of US $ 25-30.

Therefore, it will be an alternative available also for the poorest countries. The fact that this vaccine does not have to be administered at minus 70 degrees will also play a role in this, the 2-8 degree temperature provided by standard refrigerators is sufficient.

Minister Michael Gove said authorization of another vaccine could bring it much closer to easing the strict restrictions. This may also soon ease international travel restrictions on the island nation. An estimated 30,000 new infections and 300 deaths a day are expected in the country, largely due to the mutant virus first discovered here. The AstraZeneca vaccine would further accelerate the UK’s already fast-paced vaccination program, which is being developed nationally.

The country already ranks third in the world in terms of the number of vaccines administered, with the British only vaccinating more people against the new type of coronavirus in the United States and China. Britain is particularly serious about developing immunity to the virus, which will surely have given the country enough vaccines to vaccinate three times its population, including 100 million AsrtaZeneca.

Of the vaccine manufacturers, AstraZeneca has contracted by far the majority of vaccines,

So far, more than 3 billion doses have been booked worldwide.

It should be noted that India alone has ordered 1 billion doses of this vaccine. Pascal Soriot, on behalf of the manufacturer, commented on the incidents, adding that they believe the vaccine will also protect against mutant viruses known so far, but this is constantly being investigated. However, they cannot reveal more than this at the moment, because the results of the investigations are waiting to be published, they are currently subject to a press embargo. Based on data released so far, Richard Horton, editor-in-chief of one of the most respected medical journals, The Lancet, said that the vaccine will also play an important role in achieving global immunity to the virus.

This is the key. Otherwise, the virus will present itself to us and other countries over and over again.

He explained. This is in line with the initiative of Mexican billionaire Carlos SIm, who also ordered 250 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine for the poorest countries in Latin America through his foundation, and the WHO-led Covax initiative, which is also based predominantly on the AstraZeneca vaccine, with 300 million doses.

A TOTAL OF 4.6 MILLION PEOPLE WORLDWIDE HAVE BEEN VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19,

according to Bloomberg, of the 6 different vaccines that have been approved globally so far. They are manufactured by German / American Pfizer / BioNTech, American Moderna, all three Chinese (Sinovac, Sinopharm, CanSino) and Russian Gamaleya. They may join these AstraZeneca vaccines soon.
