In the short term, a third of Hungarian accountants and accounting firms would cease their activities, Pénzcentrum writes based on the results of a survey prepared by the National Association of Hungarian Accountants (MKOE). In the survey, 1,700 respondents have answered this question so far, 24% of whom have indicated their age and 7% of the administrative burden as a reason for leaving the race.

Dissatisfaction is also due to the continuing decline in the recognition and financial esteem of the accounting profession, the rise in managerial expectations of NAV, but the widespread belief that accountants will not be needed in the future will also become common.

The effects of the fact that a third of accountants surrender will be felt throughout Hungarian economic life within a year or two. Zoltán Matyóka, president of MKOE, told the portal that the disappearance of professionals would significantly complicate the life of small and medium-sized companies, since an accountant performs many more tasks than a few years ago, and this can generate significant price increases. as tasks remain, but there will be no one to do them.

Action is needed as soon as possible to reduce the administrative burden on accountants, as more and more colleagues will seek new jobs without it.
