Coronavirus concentrations in wastewater are increasing in four rural cities, the National Center for Public Health (NNK) reported Monday.

As it is written, in week 43, the concentration of coronavirus measured in wastewater stagnates in most of the country’s settlements, including the capital and the agglomeration, while in some large cities

In Pécs, Békéscsaba, Salgótarján and Zalaegerszeg the trend is increasing.

The epidemic situation remains unchanged and compliance with preventive regulations is still necessary, emphasizes the NNK. The increase in the concentration of hereditary coronavirus material detected in sewage samples is followed by an increase in the number of new cases in five days. Sewage testing is also important because asymptomatic infected or symptomatic infected people can also shed hereditary virus material, even those that would not be within the scope of epidemiology during conventional screening tests.
