Single-family home owners can also get 30 to 40 percent support from Hungarian sources and the European Union for the installation of solar systems. This was announced by the Minister of Innovation and Technology in Zalaegerszeg.

In his presentation at the GreenTech – Green Energy and Sustainability fair, László Palkovics said that I would like to encourage the use of renewable energy sources not only with credit, but also with non-refundable support.

It is envisaged that energy providers will be encouraged to use energy more efficiently than consumers, for example by installing smart meters, which will be one of the biggest energy systems transformation projects.

The aim is to make the energy economy “Hungarian-owned, green and high-tech”.

declared by the Minister.

Zoltán Birkner, President of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office, said: Since 2018, sustainability-related innovations have garnered just HUF 3 billion in support in Hungary, but I would like to increase this year with a research and market-driven development providing HUF 20 billion for universities and to support cooperation between corporate actors.

Sustainability goals are increasingly articulated across applications, with about 15 percent of individual research applications this year addressing a green theme.

Zoltán Birkner added: the government provides a huge amount of HUF 100 billion for the establishment of competence centers in cooperation with universities and companies, for the establishment of national laboratories and science and innovation parks in various cities of the country to help the birth of modern industries.
