Anyone who can do so should get vaccinated against the coronavirus, suggested János Szlávik, chief physician at the National Institute of Hematology and Infectious Diseases at South Pest Central Hospital.
On the Kossuth Radio morning show, the chief physician said he supports all vaccines and that if a vaccine is developed against a disease, it is worth giving it to everyone. He is stressed:
As an infectologist, all I can say is that anyone who can get vaccinated, even if I know that this disease is really dangerous for the elderly and the sick.
The country has mandated that millions of vaccines reach people as soon as possible, but this requires citizens to understand the benefits of vaccines. He added that vaccines do not produce side effects as serious as those who refuse to vaccinate.
According to the chief physician, the epidemic situation in Hungary will improve as a result of government measures, as the number of identified cases has recently decreased, although more people are hospitalized.
The chief physician said of the upcoming vacation,
if possible, several families should not celebrate together,
because it is not possible to know who is asymptomatic but is a carrier of the virus. The infectologist believed:
See the end of the epidemic! People must be aware that this is a transition period, we must be able to stop certain things in order to return to our normal life next summer.
