In its decision announced Thursday afternoon, the Debrecen Sentencing Panel imposed eighteen-year prison on B. Roland, known as the murderer in Borsodnádasd.
In September 2017, the man cheated on his girlfriend, Csenge, in the woods. He was abused several times in the middle of the night, then he threw the unconscious girl into the water well. He hid his clothes and then the next day, together with the townspeople, went out in search of the girl. He was captured a week later.
The first instance verdict stirred a lot of dust in the spring. In this, the Miskolc Court issued a judgment for negligent homicide, which concluded that the accused had not proven his criminal responsibility in an unequivocally abusive manner.
The court then accepted the defendant’s claim that the victim had already been found unconscious and believed that she was dead. Fearing that he could be blamed for his death, he decided to try to destroy the body. To do this, he took Bell to a nearby drainage pit and threw him upside down. The unconscious girl drowned in the water.
On September 2, the third anniversary of Csenge’s death, a fateful trial took place at the Debrecen Sentencing Board. HE aHe was prosecuted by the Attorney General of the Debrecen Court of Appeal for murder on special motives, with particular cruelty. The current trial confirmed this opinion.
