Otto Légli, former winegrower and branch manager of the Balatonboglár state farm, who died at the age of 89 on October 7, 2020, cites the news published on the Facebook page of the National Council of Mountain Communities in Hírbalaton.

Otto Légli Sr. was born in Bérbaltavár, he spent his childhood in Szombathely, from where he moved to Balatonboglár. He acquired the basics of the horticultural profession at Szombathely and then continued his studies at the University of Horticulture.

He moved to the Balatonboglár State Farm in 1958 and was part of the progressive changes that started there. Moving up the ladder, he was already responsible for 900 hectares of vineyard as the industry leader, and from there he retired in 1991. According to his family’s post on social media, he was an excellent innovator. As they wrote, their humanity, their communal sensitivity will always be an example for them.

According to the post, Otto Légli Sr. knew his environment as an excellent person, a recognized and committed professional, his work and his example survive, since two of his three children, Ottó Légli, who is currently president of HNT and Géza Légli, they continue in the family winery.
