The number of active infections is 130,722. 22% of the actively infected, 25% of the dead and 26% of those recovered are from Budapest. 7,461 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, 627 of which are connected to ventilators.

The number of infected people is growing exponentially across Europe, in neighboring countries and in Hungary, and more and more people are seeking hospital care. The epidemic cannot be stopped, the goal is to stop the epidemic and protect the performance of hospitals. This is the purpose of the new announced emergency protection measures. At its meeting on Wednesday, the government will assess the impact and necessity of the restrictive measures currently in place. We continue to ask for the cooperation and discipline of the Hungarian people in enforcing the rules.

The police strictly monitor compliance with the rules, impose fines and close places where regulations are not followed.

Soldiers support the work of the police in various cities of the country and relieve health workers in 93 hospitals in tasks that can be performed even without a professional health qualification and are in charge of the surveillance and protection of individually designated institutions .

To ease the burden of healthcare, college students participating in health and medical training courses can participate in nationwide rapid tests and hospital care activities as part of a 2-week paid internship starting Monday. Rapid tests of social workers have also started.

In the face of the coronavirus emergency, the government has issued another decree, according to which in residential areas, commercial P + R, parking garage, parking garage, closed surface parking and non-closed surface parking can be used for free of 19 to 7 hours. The facility operator is obliged to allow free parking during this time zone. The regulation will go into effect on November 23.

There is a curfew between 8 pm and 5 am, everyone must be home by 8 pm The police have acted in a total of 5,211 cases to date for violating the curfew. The regulations introduced so far on the use and maintenance of distance remain in force, with the obligation to wear a mask in some public areas of settlements with more than 10,000 inhabitants. It is the responsibility of the mayor to designate the areas. It is not yet mandatory to wear a mask during sports activities or in parks or green areas.

All meetings are prohibited. Restaurants cannot accept guests, they can only stay there to bring food. The hotel cannot accept tourists, only guests arriving for business, economic or educational reasons. It is forbidden to carry out any type of event, including cultural events and Christmas fairs. Sports matches must be held behind closed doors. The use of leisure facilities, including in particular fitness rooms, indoor swimming pools, museums, libraries, cinemas and zoos, skating rinks, is prohibited. Nurseries, kindergartens and elementary schools are open up to the eighth grade as usual, with special institutional protection measures determined by the principal. High schools and universities have moved to a digital agenda. The government has issued a decree whereby a fixed Internet access service will be available free of charge for thirty days to students and teachers of digital education in public education and vocational training.

Private and family events (eg birthdays) can be held for up to 10 people. Funerals can be held for up to 50 people. Weddings can be held without a wedding, however only certain people can attend the event.

In Hungary, everyone has a hospital bed, care, a ventilator and with the protection measures that have just been introduced, the goal is to keep it that way.

The protective measures are intended to curb the epidemic and thus also to protect the performance of medical care. In order to continue providing hospital care to coronavirus patients with the increasing number of patients, additional capacity-building measures were ordered: deferred surgeries were suspended, the number of hospitals included in care and hospital beds reserved increased. for coronavirus patients.

The government is negotiating a coronavirus vaccine on several fronts to ensure that Hungarians have access to the vaccine as soon as possible, and has issued a decree that will simplify and speed up the importation of foreign-made coronavirus vaccines and drugs into Hungary. .

A sample of a Russian vaccine against coronavirus arrived in Budapest on Thursday. A complete vaccine dossier will arrive soon and a full analytical study will begin. The government is negotiating and purchasing as much as possible for foreign vaccines, having so far contracted 12 million doses of vaccines from three manufacturers: AstraZeneca in Oxford, Janssen Pharmaceutica in the United States and Pfizer.

In order to curb the spread of the community, we will continue to avoid places where there are many people indoors, preferably keep social distance, wash our hands frequently and thoroughly. Anyone who has received an official home quarantine order for a stay abroad or for any other reason must strictly comply. Anyone with symptoms should not go into the community but stay home and notify their GP by phone.

Free flu vaccines are already being given as part of health protection. Influenza vaccination is provided to GPs on an ongoing basis.

The protection of elderly and chronic patients is of the utmost importance. Older people are also asked to pay close attention to themselves and general precautions. Visiting hospitals and nursing homes is prohibited. And nursing home administrators must do everything possible to prevent infection. If a focal point takes place in a social institution or anywhere else in the community, the epidemiological deployment unit will take the necessary actions.

In addition to maintaining health protection, the government is working on additional economic and family protection measures.
