Béla Merkely said that nearly 2,000 people have been vaccinated at Semmelweis University alone. He stressed that on the first day, relatively few wanted to get vaccinated. However, since then, as more and more people have been vaccinated and no side effects have been reported, more and more people are reporting.

At Semmelweis University, about 95 percent of doctors accept the vaccine, and most professionals want to get vaccinated as well.

However, he noted that much remains to be done to ensure that vaccination is accepted by the population as widely as possible and that flock immunity is developed.

Béla Merkely emphasized that vaccination not only helps prevent possible diseases, but also provides almost one hundred percent protection in terms of preventing complicated diseases.

The rector of Semmelweis University also spoke about the feeling that the coronavirus epidemic has increased the daily work of the medical profession and health workers, increasing the interest of young people, now graduates, in medical training and in Health Sciences.
