Already last Thursday, Hollik, on behalf of the ruling parties, demanded that the capital’s responsibility for the situation in the Pest Road nursing home be clarified through rigorous investigations. In his view, there is a reasonable suspicion that the maintainer’s liability may be established, but it was unclear at the time who exactly would be required to carry out the investigations. Hollik then asked questions “on behalf of the Hungarian people” on the matter on Friday, and wondered exactly if

  • Is it true that there was no full-time doctor in the home at the time of the outbreak and for the following weeks,
  • Is it true that the previous doctor, who withdrew his dismissal due to the epidemic but was not required by the institution, was allowed to leave?
  • He also asked if a confidentiality statement had been signed with the former doctor and, if so, why they had done so, “which should be kept secret.”

All of this was supplemented on Saturday by the fact that it is true that there is no doctor in the nursing home in Pesti út to this day, as Hollik said at Saturday’s press conference that Mayor Gergely Karácsony has yet to respond. to your questions. Then he spoke again about the need to consider the responsibility of the maintainer, and on one issue he also said that voters have the opportunity to establish political responsibility every five years, in municipal elections.

Then on Sunday, the Mayor’s Office responded and the case was short-circuited fairly quickly. As they wrote,

  • the Pest travel institution had a full-time doctor at all times,
  • the full-time home doctor, among many other things, had a duty to constantly monitor the health of people cared for at home,
  • They also replied no to whether the former full-time doctor was required to maintain confidentiality,
  • and finally, it was observed that, of course, there was no social institution maintained by the capital without a personal medical presence at the time of the epidemic, in his opinion, there was “nothing to clarify”.
