The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 5,318 new Hungarian citizens, thus increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 104,943. Most of the 107 deaths were elderly, chronic patients, so the number of deaths increased to 2,357 and 24,847 have already recovered. The number of active infections is 77,739. 25% of the actively infected, 29% of the dead and 27% of those recovered are from Budapest. The hospital treats 5,612 coronavirus patients, 405 of whom are hooked up to ventilators.
The number of infected people is growing exponentially across Europe, in neighboring countries and in Hungary, with more and more people requesting hospital care. The epidemic cannot be stopped, the goal is to stop it: read koronavirus.gov.hu.
To further strengthen the fight against the epidemic, the government has restored the state of emergency, that is, it has declared a state of emergency. This is important because the state of emergency, as it did now in the first wave, allows the government to act quickly. The government asks Parliament to extend the extraordinary legal order by 90 days, and has already presented a proposal in this regard to parliament.
The government is asking citizens to cooperate in implementing emergency measures related to the emergency. Everyone has to follow the rules, there is enormous individual responsibility. In Hungary, everyone has a hospital bed, healthcare, a ventilator, and with the protection measures just introduced, the goal is to keep it that way. These measures are intended to curb the epidemic and thus protect health care performance, they say. Due to the extraordinary epidemic situation, the government is operating under a new order: the operational staff meet with the Prime Minister at 6 a.m. every other day, and the Extraordinary Law Working Group has resumed its work.
There is a night curfew restriction. Between midnight and 5 am, everyone must remain at their place of residence, stay or accommodation. Exceptions to this are if someone leaves their place of residence for work, transportation to the workplace, transportation from the workplace to their place of residence, place of residence or accommodation, or in case of danger to health, danger to life or serious damage and protection of life.
To reduce the spread of the epidemic, free parking has been reintroduced and the local public transport company in Budapest and cities with county status are obliged to prepare a traffic consolidation plan on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. 9 am and between 3 pm and 7 pm periods between.
The government has also decided to close nightclubs, and as of now only one in three chairs will be able to sit at events, sporting events, cinemas and theaters, and wearing a mask is mandatory. To protect the Hungarian people, the government is negotiating the coronavirus vaccine on several fronts so that the Hungarian people can get vaccinated as soon as possible.
To stop the spread of the community continues

- wash your hands frequently and thoroughly,
- whoever has received the order to be officially quarantined for a stay abroad or for any other reason, must strictly comply with it
- Anyone with symptoms should not go into the community but stay home and notify their GP by phone.
Hospitals are prepared for the increased workload and all patients needing hospital care have access to hospital beds and care. At this stage of defense, it is especially important to protect the performance of these institutions, which is why it is important to strictly adhere to protective measures, they write.
Free flu vaccines are already being given as part of health protection. The provision of influenza vaccines to GPs is ongoing.
The protection of elderly and chronic patients is of the utmost importance. The elderly are also asked to pay more attention to themselves and general precautions. Visiting hospitals and nursing homes is prohibited. And nursing home owners should do everything they can to avoid infection. If a focal point takes place in a social institution or anywhere else in the community, the epidemiological deployment unit will take the necessary actions.
In addition to maintaining health protection, the government is working on additional economic and family protection measures.
