After the media council of the National Media and Communications Authority (NMHH) declared invalid the requests of two contestants in the contest for the current frequency of Klubrádió, one of them, Spirit FM, which belongs to the ATV group, has already announced that will go to court, reported the news portal Média1.

According to Szilárd Németh S., president of the Spirit FM operating association belonging to the ATV Group, the decision of the Media Council announced on Monday is legally debatable, so they will go to court, but for security reasons they will also request another frequency.

At the moment, NMHH has only informed the press as a reason for the exclusion that a formal (i.e. formal) error has been included in the 2020 request from both the Association for Community Radio Broadcasting (the media service provider Spirit FM) as well as the LBK Media Service Provider 2020.

Years earlier, the Klubrádió management was outraged when the Media Council wanted to rule out formal errors in the tender for the 92.9 MHz frequency, saying that the head of the radio station had not signed a completely blank page. The court finally gave the truth to Club Radio, after which they reached the 92.9 MHz frequency.

In Hungary, radio frequencies are distributed by the Media Council elected by Parliament. The board is made up exclusively of members elected by pro-government votes. Applicants regularly question the legitimacy of their decisions.

In several cases, serious abuses have already been revealed in the Media Council’s frequency tenders.

Earlier, for example, the board tried to help Andy Vajna’s company, Radio 1 in Békéscsaba, with a frequency that the applicant from the nearby government did not have the appropriate type of bank account certificate required for the tender procedure, he writes the news portal.
