January rumors have been confirmed and it has been officially announced that Taika Waititi (Jojo Bunny, Thor 3) will be making an all-night Star Wars movie, writes the Hollywood Reporter based on StarWars.com.

Of course, nothing is known about the film except that it is directed by Waititi and he will co-write the film alongside Krysty Wilson-Cairnstaika, who filmed the 1917 war film.

New Zealand’s Waititi became famous for his unique comedy films Chase of the Ordinary Vampires and the Wild Men, and then took Thor 3 to the highest levels in Hollywood. Since then, he has directed a portion of the series The Mandalorian, also starring in Star Wars, and won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay this year for his WWII tragicomedy Jojo Bunny.

The Waititi name first came up in January of this year as the director of a new Star Wars movie. The director is currently finishing his soccer movie Next Goal Wins and preparing the fourth installment of Thor, which will premiere on February 11, 2022. It is still unknown when the new Star Wars movie will arrive or what it will be about. Introduced in late 2019, Skywalker’s age initially ended the Skywalker family story through nine films, with Rian Johnson (The Last Jedi Fallen to Dagger) planned to work on a separate trilogy.

Another announcement was made on StarWars.com, with Netflix series writer Leslye Headland, the author of the Russian Doll series, also working on a new series, the subject of which is unknown.
