Attila Apró, former chief director of Hungarian Television, died at the age of 74, the director’s family told MTI.

Attila Apró He was born on February 3, 1947 in Budapest. He studied at the Liszt Ferenc College of Music between 1966 and 1969, and then between 1981 and 1985 he was a student at the College of Theater and Film Arts.

Meanwhile, from 1971 to 1976 he worked as a music director for the Hungarian Record Company, while from 1972 to 1976 he was an external employee of Hungarian Television, and from 1976 he became an internal employee. From 1984 to 1987 he was head of the management department and from 1987 to 1990 he was editor-in-chief. He has worked as a producer-director for Eastern Kft. Since 1997, in 2004 he became chief director.

Attila Apró’s names include the International Hungarian Television Directing Competition (1974-2002), The Game Without Borders (1993-1997), Music-Music-Music (50 programs), Masterpieces (18 programs) and Music Boutiques (100 programs). ).

He directed an opera by Verdi’s Traviata, Tchaikovsky’s Gounod Faust and Anyegin, and a ballet by Monteverdi’s Tankred and Stravinsky’s Chlorinda and Pulcinella.

He made portraits of various artists, including András Fodor, Dénes Gulyás, Antal Doráti, Sylvia Sass, Lívia Budai, Sándor Szokolay, Jenő Jandó and Éva Marton.

He has directed numerous television broadcasts and has also staged the operas Peasant Honor by Mascagni, Leoncavallo Bajazzos and Gounod Faust.

Attila Apró received first prize in the MTV international directing competition in 1976.
