Attila Vidnyánszky is initiating the call for a congress with the participation of the entire profession, where a solution could be found to the situation around the University of Theater and Cinematography Arts (SZFE). The president of the university’s board of directors spoke about this in an interview with the Democrat. The director aWhen asked what would happen if a part of the theater profession still did not sit down to negotiate with him, he replied: he would step aside if he considered that his person was the only obstacle to solving the SZFE case.

If I feel that the time has come when it is really only my person who is the obstacle to thinking together, I will walk away without any problem. Because I see this as a question, not a question of power. I’ve never been the one to hold onto all kinds of director’s chairs with both hands. Nor do I direct the Nacional; If someone reaches the end of the cycle with better, newer and fresher thoughts, I will give them the ground without pain.

As for why the leaders of the institution led by László Upor canceled the conciliation convened at the initiative of the Hungarian Rectors Conference and the National Conference of Student Municipalities, the Rectors Conference is a very serious institution, of which it is a member the rector of all institutions of higher education in the country. The director of the National Theater considers it important to fight for aesthetic diversity by inviting as many visiting professors as possible and wanting to involve the university in international circulation by building long-term relationships at the system level. According to the principal, it is a violation of the law in itself that education is maintained and the deterioration of the university building is proof of administrative incompetence.

The SZFE case

At the University of Theater and Cinematographic Arts, the old state supervision will be replaced by an audit of the foundation as of September 1, and Attila Vidnyánszky, general director of the National Theater, has been appointed head of the board of directors. The students feared the independence of the SZFE from the new leadership, the old leadership also expressed opposition, they resigned from office one after another. The students organized a demonstration, forming a chain of life, transferring their demands to Parliament, occupying the university, which was alternately guarded by prominent representatives of theatrical life and students. The objective of the protesters is to achieve the resignation of the Vidnyánszky patronage and the restoration of the powers withdrawn from the Senate. More and more public figures, student groups and foreign artists joined his movements.
