There are no longer any signs of life beneath the ruins, the Chilean rescue team said Thursday, which was supposed to discover signs of life Thursday at the Beirut detonation site a month after the massive explosion.

The rescue dog team, writes MTI, picked up signals on the surface that suggested heartbeat and respiration, and the value of the heat sensor also suggested the possibility of life. Ambulances dug through the rubble for hours, but over time the operation became too dangerous due to the unstable ruins, so they had to stop. The action was already underway on Friday morning for fifty, but they were only advancing slowly with the excavation because they could not use heavy machinery due to the danger of collapse.

By Saturday, 95 percent of the building’s ruins had been searched anyway, but no one was found. However, Fernando Lermanta, leader of the Chilean volunteer rescue team, has stated that they will continue the investigation even if there is only one percent hope.

On August 4, 190 people were killed and some 6,000 injured in Beirut as a result of large-scale explosions likely caused by negligence.
