Three weeks after the epidemic peaked in the Czech Republic, the daily number of new confirmed infections was around 15,000.
This week, the highest number of cases was 6,500 on Thursday. There is also a downward trend in the number of patients treated in hospital and severe cases. There are currently about 6,300 people hospitalized, the lowest number since the end of October. The number of people treated with the ventilator also fell to 913. The number of victims of the epidemic, by contrast, rose by another 122 on Friday to about 7,000. The number of active infections is 98 thousand.
The epidemic situation in the Czech Republic, although still in the fourth band classified as serious, is already right on the edge of the third band, so the government decided on Friday to relax the precautionary measures. Starting Wednesday, students from additional classes in elementary schools can also return to their desks.
In secondary schools, they return to practical education, and in universities, students can practice in groups of twenty. As of Monday, 20 people will be able to attend the services instead of the previous 15. Store opening hours will be extended and the night curfew will take effect at 11:00 p.m. instead of 9:00 p.m. And in public spaces, instead of the two previous people, there can be six together.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Karel Havlíček, if the situation continues to improve, the epidemic situation could fall into the third lane on November 30, which would mean that many stores could reopen and many services could be restarted.
Health Minister Jan Blatný said about the state of emergency until December 12: the measures related to Christmas fairs will be discussed by the Czech government in a week.
Our goal is to ensure that people do not get viruses in stores under any circumstances.
Said the head of the ministry on public service television.
