Starting May 11, cinemas and theaters in the Czech Republic will be officially open, writes Expats Cz. The maximum number of audiences has been set to 100, but most festivals are lagging, as in Hungary. In the Czech Republic, up to 100 people can soon return to cultural, sports and community life.

The relief came two weeks earlier than expected, and the maximum number applies not only to larger public events, but also to temple weddings and ceremonies. Currently, meetings for 10 people are only allowed by the government.

Starting May 1, musicians and actors can perform even without a mask, but must demonstrate that they have been crowned with a negative test within four days of the day of the performance, with negative results. For film shoots, at least one human test must be performed every two weeks.

Not only cinemas and theaters can be opened, but almost everything, including shopping mall stores, restaurant terraces, museums, galleries, castles and outdoor sports venues, but sports halls can also open from May 11 .

However, it was noted that thousands of music festivals will not be available this summer.

On the other hand, Lubomir Zaoralek, Minister of Culture, recommended the organizers not to refund the price of tickets for the missed festivals, but rather to give a coupon for next year’s event, as they are trying to do in the Budapest Park , Ozora or the Banking Festival. All this, so that in early May there were still no official guidelines from the Hungarian government towards the industry, therefore the Hungarian organizers are trying to survive the missing spring-summer season.
