Kindergartens and lower primary schools will open in Bulgaria from January 4, thanks to the failure to curb the spread of the coronavirus epidemic, Health Minister Kostadin Angelov announced at a weekly press conference for the crisis staff in Sofia.

With nurseries, kindergartens and schools up to and including fourth grade, they can reopen on January 4. However, the panel warned that if the number of infected in the country jumped again, they would have to close again.

According to the head of the ministry, the number of people cured exceeds the number of new infections and the number of deaths also shows a decreasing trend. The state extended the partial quarantine until the end of January in a more flexible version.

The hotel restaurants will be open to hotel guests from December 22. Museums, galleries and cinemas will be able to receive visitors and spectators with a capacity of thirty percent from January. Pharmacies, supermarkets, banks and insurance companies are exempt from the restrictions. Gas stations may also be open.

There are currently 75,370 active infections in Bulgaria, with a population of 6.9 million. Their number was 82,443 a week earlier.

In the last 24 hours, the virus has been detected in 1,729 people and 110 have died, while 2,933 people have been declared cured. Since the outbreak, 7,515 people have died from complications from the virus.

In Bulgaria, 4608 people have been vaccinated with the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine so far.
